TA27 is an exciting opportunity to be part of a national High Performance Program and represent Australia on the world stage.

We encourage parents and guardians to read the TA27 information alongside their athlete before applying. While we want athletes to aim high, it is important that families understand the commitment involved before taking the first step.

TA27 may involve a significant commitment across:

TIME | MONEY | TRAVEL | TRAINING | SCHOOL/WORK | FAMILY SUPPORT

Before your athlete applies, take a moment to consider:

Can we commit to the program?
Review the potential training, camps and competition commitments, and consider whether these can fit realistically into your family’s schedule.

Can we manage the financial commitment?
Consider the known program costs as well as potential additional costs, including international travel, accommodation and other athlete expenses.

​

Can we manage the travel requirements?
The 2027 ICU World Championships will be held in Orlando, Florida. International travel requires planning, and athletes will need to meet all applicable travel and entry requirements.

​

Can the athlete balance TA27 with school, work and club commitments?
Being part of a national program will require planning, communication and commitment alongside existing responsibilities.

Does the athlete understand that selection is not guaranteed?
Every athlete must complete the relevant selection process. Applying or trying out does not guarantee selection, and not all proposed teams or divisions will necessarily proceed.

Are we comfortable with the commitment if the athlete is selected?
Selection is an exciting opportunity to represent Australia, but it also comes with responsibilities. We want athletes and families to feel confident that they can commit to the program if selected.
