Our Committees

The ACU is committed to being an inclusive and collaborative body, providing all interested and qualified stakeholders in the sport an opportunity to be involved in growing and developing our sport.

As part of the overall operations of the organisation, the ACU committee framework is there to harness and direct volunteers from across the community (athletes, coaches, program managers and event producers) to be a part of the process of developing, reviewing and providing guidance on the sports foundations. See below for more information on each committee and their goals.

Our Technical committee is tasked with developing and reviewing all aspects of our sports technical documentation and policies relating to competitions. These include scorecards, rubrics, skill selection for each level, team sizes, divisions, event standards and more. The technical committee meets several times a year and is chaired by a national board member to ensure a strong connection to the organisations overall goals and strategic pillars in the decisions that it makes.

Our Medical Committee is an advisory group that all parts of the organisation can call upon to make determinations when it comes to anything medical or safety related. They also consistently review event and training standards to provide guidance on safe skill development, skill selection per level, injury rates and statistics to provide guidance and clarity for members. The committee meets several times a year and is currently co-chaired by a national board member to ensure a strong connection to the organisations overall goals and strategic pillars in the decisions that it makes.
