Australian Cheer Union is proud to celebrate an outstanding performance by Team Australia at the 2026 ICU World Cheerleading Championships, with Australian athletes delivering one of the most successful campaigns in our nation's history.
This year, Team Australia fielded its largest-ever contingent, with more than 300 athletes representing Australia across 19 teams, including two doubles divisions. One of the most significant achievements of the championships came through Australia's continued leadership in All Abilities Cheer and Dance.
Following the success and growth of our programs, Team Australia was invited to present at the ICU Disability Sport Divisions Session, sharing insights into the Australian All Abilities pathway and program structure with representatives from around the world. The presentation was delivered by Team Australia Director Danelle Cooney, who spoke on behalf of Australia and highlighted the work being done to create meaningful opportunities for athletes of all abilities.
